Nigerian actress and model, Chiagoziem Nwakanma, who starred in TV series This is it and Life 101 currently airing on EbonyLife TV has officially changed her name to Chy Leona.
The talented actress says this new move is designed to appeal to a broader audience while heralding a new era for her brand.
Her publicists say Chy Leona is re-positioning her career for big things in 2017 and beyond hence the change of name.

The Abia-born actress has been acting at the very young age of 15 a former member of the thespian family theatre (TFT).
She has a couple of stage credit to her name in Nigeria including skits for Etisalat Prize for Literature, amongst others.
Speaking in a 2013 interview, the thespian said she got into modelling “because I knew I was good looking. I mean, I’ve been told I’m good looking”
Acting came from modelling.
“I got into acting as an experiment through modelling. I was 16! Now it is so much more than that.
“Modelling and acting gives me the permission to truly express myself freely,” she added.
On the actors she looked up to, she said, “There are so many actors I look up to and for different reasons, both in Hollywood and Nollywood. I honestly can’t name them all. Just to name a few: Don Cheadle, Majid Michel, Jennifer Aniston, Omotola and the list goes on. All versatile actors.”
The newly christened Chy Leona, meanwhile, has a lot going on to thrill her fans while she looks forward to an exciting career in Nigeria and in the international scene.
