Actress Ekene Umenwa and her filmmaker husband Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex have responded to the controversy that ensued after Ekene knelt before the gospel singer Moses Bliss at their wedding reception.
The couple got married on Saturday, November 4.
The actress was heavily criticised after a viral video captured her leaving Alex and kneeling before the gospel singer who made a surprise appearance at the event.
Responding to the criticism in an Instagram post on Sunday, Ekene’s husband reposted the viral video to shut down his wife’s critics.
“When God is involved everything becomes rosy.. @ekene_umenwa God bless you @deacon_famous , @mosesbliss thank you for surprising my wife. God bless you. Please all of you should close your mouth,” he wrote.
Ekene also in a now-deleted Instagram post, shut down the blogger who first circulated the video.
Also addressing the controversy, the MC of the event Deacon Famous argued that Ekene was not kneeling for Moses “but for the anointing he came with”.
“I was the one who invited Moses Bliss to the wedding to surprise because it was what she wanted. She wanted a worship session for her wedding,” he said.

“She was not kneeling down for Moses, she was kneeling down for the anointing that Moses came with.
“She was kneeling down for the song he got from the spirit. She was kneeling down to pray, to honor God, to honor the grace.”
Responding in the comment section of the video, Alex said there is no need for an explanation.
Ifeanyi Ogbodo added that “he is not complaining” about the incident. He also thanked the MC for the explanation.
“Deacon you get time to explain… I am not complaining. God bless you real good my brother,” he wrote.
