Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has taken down an anti-marriage Instagram post which earned her brutal criticism from fans.
“I don’t want to ever get married, those in it are miserable. Forget the smiling,” Halima wrote on Monday.
No sooner had she posted the message than fans came after her for speaking ill of the marriage institution.
A follower with the handle @choconaomi was most vehement, writing “@halimabubakar u no see na how u no go talk so!mtcheww.”
The unedited ding-dong between the two continued thus:
@halimabubakar: @choconaomi if you need a husband i will give you @choconaomi empty brain
@choconaomi: @halimabubakar short ugly devil, go and give urself one first before running ur useless mouth here
@halimabubakar: Look at the thing calling me short and all, you should be ashamed @choconaomi with your non stop river Niger brow and in all i didnt insult you
@halimabubakar: you want publicity right? Here enjoy dear and oh please reduce the weed and take all..wish you well and thanks for the comments. Hope you are proud of them.
choconaomi: @halimabubakar goat, at least i have a man with the brow, u nkor???
Halima’s initial post is believed to have been triggered by the tragic story of Ronke Shonde who was allegedly killed by her husband, Lekan Shonde, in the Egbeda area of Lagos last week.
The death has seen many celebrities taking to social media to create awareness about domestic violence.
Halima, 30, is a Kogi indigene born in Kano.
She made her entry into Nollywood taking off her clothes in posters and on movie jackets.
