Actress, TV presenter, and model Idia Aisien has opened up about a traumatic accident that occurred on her birthday, leaving her unable to walk.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Friday, Idia recounted how what was meant to be a joyous celebration turned into one of the most painful experiences of her life.
She wrote, “On July 6, 2024, what was supposed to be the best birthday of my life turned out to be one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had.”
“I broke my leg in three places and could no longer walk. I didn’t know if I’d be able to do the things I love, but I knew I would begin to focus on the things that truly matter.
“I watched how people with disabilities are treated and I wanted to do my part to make life a little bit easier because some of the basic things we take for granted were just so hard to do.”
The actress went on to describe the support she provided to those with disabilities, stating that this may be why she survived the ordeal.
“This, I believe, is one of the reasons I’ve been blessed to come out of this situation alive. To my family and friends who never left my side, all I can say is thank you.
“It has been an incredibly painful eight weeks. To everyone who messaged, emailed, prayed, or visited, I love you.”
The video compilation shared among others, showed her in the company friends, family, her fractured leg and in a wheelchair.
Recall that earlier in July, QEDNG reported that Idia Aisien marked her birthday with a captivating dance performance to Femi Kuti’s hit song ‘Beng Beng Beng.’
