Movie producer and actress Adanma Luke has turned herself in for questioning over a boat mishap that killed actor Junior Pope and other crew members.
Junior Pope was confirmed dead on Wednesday night after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside other crew members drowned in the River Niger area on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.
Following the circumstances surrounding their deaths, many blamed and accused Adanma of negligence, asking her to take responsibility for the tragic incident.
In a chat with Linda Ikeji Blog on Friday, Anambra State Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga said Adanma voluntarily turned herself over to the police on Thursday, April 11 and wrote a statement.
Mr Ikenga added that two boat operators have been arrested and are in police custody in connection with the unfortunate incident, while other members of the cast and crew of the movie, will be invited for questioning.
Meanwhile, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has banned its members from working with Adanma Luke as a producer till further notice.
In a statement signed by the national president Emeka Rollas on Thursday, the guild announced that Adanma Luke has been suspended from filming till further notice and no actor is allowed to work with her as a producer.
