General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Wednesday clocked 80.
The mathematician, who has been general overseer of one of Nigeria’s biggest Pentecostal denominations since 1981, took out time to thank God for protection and mercy on social media.
Adeboye took over administration of the church from its founder Pa Josiah Akindayomi at the time it was hardly known, today the church boasts of numerous branches in the country and abroad.
Born into a very humble background in Osun State, Adeboye rose to become a professor of mathematics from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Married to Foluke Adeboye who is fondly called Mummy GO, Adeboye is a father of four children (three sons and a daughter) and several grandchildren. Adeboye lost his son Dare Adeboye on May 4, 2021. Dare died at the age of 42.
In commemoration of his 80th birthday, he had built several dialysis centres in some parts of the country.
