Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu has said that Pastor Enoch Adeboye called him Abraham sometime in 2018.
Tinubu said Adeboye named him Abraham when his wife Oluremi Tinubu was ordained an assistant pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 2018.
“The day my wife was ordained a pastor, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me the name Abraham,” Tinubu said. “I said what’s the meaning? He said father of nation.”
Tinubu dislcosed this while speaking with Islamic groups and the Kano chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, on Monday.
A video of him making the comments have gone viral.
Tinubu’s choice of a Muslim running mate in the person of former Borno State governor Kashim Shettima has been met with criticisms from Christians, with many accusing the ruling APC of an agenda to Islamise Nigeria.
