Leke Adeboye, son of the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has taken to social media to mourn the co-founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church in South Korea Pastor David Yonggi Cho.
Cho died on Tuesday morning at the age of 85 after battling with complications from a stroke.
Cho was once reported to have the largest church auditorium in the world.
Mourning the preacher, Adeboye wrote in an Instagram post, “To a man of God, that I was privileged to be in the same room with, thank you for what you did for the Kingdom. Your game plan was simple, prayers, souls souls souls. Great work sir.”
Iginla refered to Cho as his spiritual father in a Facebook post.
He wrote, “A South Korean yet spiritually available to father me regardless of tribe, distance and country. Your wisdom, teaching and instructions will abide with me forever.
“One may think with the millions of congregation under your care you may not be available for mentorship but that was never the case with you Dear Father, you could identify the few chosen among the thousands that were called and you mentored through every available means. Oh father my heart bleeds but I know some day we will meet and not part again at the feet of our Heavenly Father.”
Iginla concluded his tribute thus, “You have fought a good fight and will forever be in my heart. REST IN PEACE DAVID YOUNGGI CHO.”
