Pastors Ifeanyi Adefarasin and Nike Adeyemi have both sent messages to the senior pastor of Lagos-based Fountain of Life Church Taiwo Odukoya over the death of his wife Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.
Mrs Odukoya died on Tuesday after battling cancer for two years.
Adefarasin, wife of the senior pastor of House on the Rock church, Paul Adefarasin, said in an Instagram post that she would continue to stand in silence with the bereaved as words would be insufficient.
“Our Dear Egbon, Pastor Taiwo, we stand with you, in silence, because no words will be sufficient. Praying God’s grace and strength abounds to you through this time and beyond, and to every one of your children,” she wrote on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Adeyemi, wife of Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre, recalled how she joined in prayer for Mrs Odukoya, adding that “it’s hard to believe God wanted you home at this time.”
“Praying for the comfort and strength of the Holy Spirit for Pastor Taiwo, the children, the entire Odukoya and Fountain of Life Church family,” she added.
Nomthi was married to Odukoya for 11 years in a union that produced two male children.
Odukoya was first married to Bimbo Odukoya, who ran a Singles and Married series, before she died from injuries sustained in a plane crash in 2005.
