Senior special assistant to the Lagos State governor on persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal is giving out rice, wheelchairs and cerebral palsy chair to physically challenged people a few days before Christmas.
The 36-year-old announced the gifts in an Instagram post, saying the items were at the Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs.
“The office is located behind the Ministry of Justice at Alausa.
“I need to give them out to deserving people.
“The wheelchairs, are regular ones,” parts of her post read.
An amputee herself, Oyetunde-Lawal is a lawyer and disability rights advocate.
She was appointed SSA to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on PLWDs in February 2021.
A statement by the state government said her appointment “stems from the confidence in her capabilities and demonstrated commitment to the rights and well-being of PLWDs.”
