Canada-based singer, Stephanie Otobo, has apologised publicly to Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) whom she accused of having an affair with her.
The embattled singer made the apology at service held at the church premises in Auchi, Edo State.
It comes a few days after beleaguered blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, apologised to Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt, whom she accused of sleeping with a popular actress.
Otobo had in 2017 accused the clergyman of illegal procurement of abortion, threat to life, attempted murder and false promise of marriage.
She claimed she began an amorous affair with Suleman after they met in Canada in 2015.
Suleman denied the allegations, slamming a libel suit on Otobo and online publication, Sahara Reporters.
Undaunted, the “ex-stripper” presented bank statements allegedly showing how Suleman transferred money to her account.
In a curious twist, the singer has now confessed to having been manipulated by powerful politicians and pastors to blackmail Suleman.
Her desperation to build a career, she said, made her succumb to the manipulation.
She told the stunned congregation “they paid me a lot of money”, ending her speech with an apology “to the body of Christ” and the preacher’s family.
The pastor’s wife, Lizzy Johnson Suleman, was on hand to accept the apology and pray for Otobo.
Nowhere in the video posted online did the young woman withdraw her allegation that she had an affair with Suleman.
Like Olunloyo, Otobo said she has given her life to Christ.
