The burial committee for the late actor Murphy Afolabi has alleged that actress Adunni Ade is owing the deceased N250,000.
At the eighth-day fidau prayer held in Murphy’s honour on Monday, the committee asked Adunni to pay back the money so it can be given to Murphy’s children.
“Adunni Ade, please return the N250,000 that you are owing the late Murphy Afolabi,” one of the committee members said publicly in Yoruba.
Fuji musicians Alabi Pasuma and KS1 Malaika joined actors, friends, family and well-wishers of the late Murphy in honouring him at the eighth-day fidau prayer.
The prayer held at Blue Roof Hall at LTV 8 in Ikeja, Lagos also had the likes of actors Yinka Quadri, Muyiwa Ademola, Akeem Alimi and Olaniyi Afonja, popularly known as Sanyeri, in attendance.
On arrival, Pasuma exchanged pleasantries with the actors and was given a seat at the table with them. The Islamic clerics at the high table also acknowledged his presence. Pasuma held the eighth-day fidau for his mum at the same venue back in April.
Actresses Fausat Balogun and Eniola Badmus were also present to honour Murphy.
A night of tributes organised in Murphy’s honour by his colleagues was held on Sunday, May 21.
Murphy died on May 14 after a fall in the bathroom at his Ikorodu home.
He was buried on Monday, May 15 at his home.
Meanwhile, in the build-up to the 2023 presidential election, Adunni angered stakeholders in the Yoruba movie industry when she claimed that they were paid N90,000 to endorse Bola Tinubu.
After her claim, she alleged there was a threat to her life by Koko Zaria, the right-hand man of Lagos transport union leader Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.
