Uganda qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following a 1-0 victory Cape Verde 1-0 in a Group L match at the Mandela stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Cranes made sure they maintained their unbeaten run in the qualifying campaign with a hard-fought win.
The only goal of the game was scored by Patrick Kaddu in the 79th minute which sees them firmly placed at the top of the standings with 13 points.
The loss for Cape Verde is their third of the qualifying campaign and could ultimately end their chances of reaching Cameroon.
Currently, Tanzania are second with five points, one point above third-placed Cape Verde.
The Cranes will face Nigeria who equally sealed a spot on Saturday, in an international friendly on Tuesday.
