Tanzania earned their first victory in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after claiming a 1-0 away win over Chad on Wednesday.
The Taifa Stars managed just a single point in their previous two fixtures against Egypt and Nigeria and qualification seemed a daunting task.
With the away victory over the winless Chad, coupled with the fact that the corresponding fixture will be played in Dar-es-Salaam in three days time, the East Africans are beginning to dream of a ticket to Gabon.
TP Mazembe striker, Mbwana Samatta, scored the only goal of the game in the 30th minute to hand the three-time Eastern African champions their first three points.
The victory means Tanzania, with four points, are now equal on points with the Super Eagles and two behind Egypt in Group G.
After a job well done, the Tanzanians will now shift their attention to the clash between the Pharaohs and Eagles on Friday in Kaduna.
