Newly crowned, African Footballer of the Year, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has ruled out a move to Arsenal, just one day after the Gunners reportedly bid £44million for him.
Aubameyang has scored 18 goals in 17 Bundesliga games so far this season as well as four in four in the Europa League for Borussia Dortmund, more than any other striker in Europe’s top leagues.
The Gabon international was reportedly the subject of a bid from Arsenal earlier this week, while The Sun of UK claimed that the 26-year-old had told friends he wants to play in the Barclays Premier League.
It was while speaking to The Sun when Aubameyang insisted he would not be leaving for the Emirates.
After being voted king of African football ahead of Yaya Toure, the 26-year-old said: “I don’t want to go to Arsenal. I won’t leave Dortmund soon.”
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked in recent times.
