Nigerian-born mixed martial arts fighter, Israel Adesanya, has said that African hair has been disrespected for ages by foreigners.
The 29-year-old fighter said this in an Instagram post on Monday.
“Our hair is part of our culture, it has been disrespected by foreign minds for years and I normally let it slide cuz I can’t give a history lesson to someone who thinks their way is the only way,” he wrote in parts.
In April, Israel Adesanya continued his unbeaten run in the UFC by defeating Kelvin Gastelum via unanimous decision during a bout for the interim middleweight title.
The fight which lasted 25 minutes was Adesanya’s 17th win without a loss in the UFC.
Known as the Last Stylebender, he said: “I was ready for war. I was willing to leave it all and give it all.”
