The event also doubled as a forum for the International Committee of AFRIMA to receive feedback from the invitees on the 2014 edition of the award ceremony which took place in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, December 27, 2014 in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC).
It will be recalled that the award was hosted by Africa’s leading contemporary music star, 2face Idibia, and Maryse Acotie from Togo.
Joining the AFRIMA International Committee at the soiree were the 2014 AFRIMA technical team, media and corporate partners, and other invited guests.
Executive Producer of AFRIMA, Mr. Mike Dada used the opportunity to appreciate the selflessness displayed by everyone in contributing to the success of the 2014 edition of the awards ceremony.
He also revealed that AUC will be hosting all the 2014 awards winners at its headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at a date to be announced soon.
While some knocks were received for misses at the awards ceremony, most of those present applauded the AFRIMA organising committee for putting together a spectacular first edition, while suggestions were offered towards a better hosting of AFRIMA 2015. Offering his view, CEO, Now Muzik, Mr. Efe Omorogbe said; “Although the postponement of the awards ceremony from November 9 to December 27, a peak season of activities for entertainers affected the turnout of artistes at the 2014 awards ceremony, it was still a great show for a maiden edition of an awards ceremony”.
“The report is out there and I have been receiving calls from various artistes who wished they had attended the awards ceremony based on what they heard from colleagues who attended and the media report. The interesting thing is that I actually learnt one or two lessons that will be useful when next I am organising a show,” the respected talent manager added.
Concluding the review session, AFRIMA Co-Producer & CountryDirector, Nigeria, Mr. Kingsley James applauded the commitment and turnout of participants while encouraging their full involvement for the success of the 2015 All Africa Music Awards.
Guests were subsequently treated to a sumptuous buffet, wine and good music at the poolside of Amber Residence.
