Afrobeat star, Seun Kuti, has revealed that he was always filled with anger after the death of his father, the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
The 37-year-old made this known on Monday when he shared a throwback picture taken after his death in 1997.
“Rikki sent me this picture yesterday. This was definitely sometime around 97, just lost my dad and I was angry, always angry,” he captioned the Instagram post.
“Seun opened up about his father’s legacy and in a January 2028 The National Newspapers.
“How could I look at it as anything other than a positive thing?”
“I can’t say that after what my father has done for us that I am in his shadow. I just don’t see that.
“My dad didn’t leave a shadow, but instead a light. It is his light that is still pointing the way forward and helping us navigate these turbulent times,” he said.
