Kayode Olasehinde, popularly known as Pa James from the TV series Pa Ajasco and Company, has once again been forced to relocate from his home because of flood.
Fellow actor, Kunle Afod, posted a picture of the house on Instagram on Tuesday along with the message: “Let’s come together to support Pa James.”
The younger actor had earlier posted a video of himself appealing to the public to come to the aid of the man popularly known as Ajirebi.
This is not the first time the veteran actor’s home in the Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos will be overtaken by flood.
Last year, Pa James posted a video of himself scooping water from his house after it was flooded.
He described the experience as something “I can never forget in my life.”
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, Pa James said: “This issue has been going on for some time and we have always pleaded with the government, but they have just been deceiving us.”
He added: “It makes me feel ashamed and I don’t even like to talk about it again. If not for my son who posted the pictures on social media, I wouldn’t have said anything. He was flabbergasted because he saw the extent of the flooding with his eyes this time. We only used to tell him about it when he was in school. At a time, we, residents of the area, even tried to salvage the situation, but we were told that it was the government that could carry out the work.”
Pa James’ son, Samuel Olasehinde, posted pictures and video of the flooded house after a visit to the place in May 2019.
The younger actor said his father’s house gets flooded due to an overflowing canal behind the street.
“This year makes it 10 years of repeated and consistent occurrence of this with severe damages done annually to properties, at times leading to temporary displacement. Letters have been written, TV appearances made, press releases written, still no significant step taken by the government to channel the overrunning canal,” Samuel wrote in an Instagram post.
