Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lagos State in March 9 election, Jimi Agbaje, has debunked rumours of him leaving the party.
Mr Fani-Kayode had earlier tweeted on Wednesday that Mr Agbaje had joined others like Musiliu Obanikoro, Iyiola Omisore, and Gbenga Daniel to leave the PDP.
However, in another tweet on Wednesday, the former minister said he received a phone call from Agbaje who assured that he was still in the party.
Fani-Kayode also said former Ogun State governor and director general of the Atiku presidential campaign organisation, Gbenga Daniel, reached him to say he had not joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I just received a call from my brother Jimi Agbaje. He assured me that he has NOT left @OfficialPDPNig and that the media reports were false. My brother Gbenga Daniel also reached me and assured me that though he has left PDP he has NOT joined @OfficialAPCNg. Thank you Jesus!,” he wrote.
Agbaje has not officially made a statement to the effect.
