Actress Kate Henshaw has dismissed claims made by Mr Ibu’s wife Stella Maris that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) lied about helping the sick actor.
The actress had on Friday made a statement to refute claims that the guild had abandoned their colleague, she pointed out that the association has been providing support for the ailing actor since last year.
However, in another statement on Saturday, Kate Henshaw disclosed that Mr Ibu’s wife Stella Maris made a video, saying that the guild lied about helping her husband.
In her words, Kate maintained that the guild has been rendering financial support for the actor. She added that she even paid a visit to the actor at the hospital where she also met Stella Maris.
Addressing Ibu’s wife, she said, “To say that AGN lied is not true, the theatrics were a bit much but it’s okay, I am not angry, we are not angry but I state again categorically that AGN has been of help to Mr Ibu in the past, members of the guild have been.”
We didn’t abandon sick actor Mr Ibu, Kate Hanshaw replies critics on behalf of AGN
“I also want to ask Jazmine his daughter to review the content of the message she sent to AGN president Mr Emeka Rollas on the 9th of June 2022, and the voice note profusely thanking him for stepping in for the family in their time of need. AGN is not a charity organisation, it is not a bank, it is not a hospital, we are not compelled to review the inner workings of our association to members of the public.”
“I sympathise with her and how she feels but to come out and try to smear my name? It’s not nice, I value my integrity and worked very hard for my name, I understand her emotions but that video was not necessary,” Kate said in parts.
