Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, on Saturday lifted his third consecutive Russian League championship after CSKA Moscow defeated Rubin Kazan 1-0 at the Kazan Arena.
It was the final game of the season, and the Moscow based-club needed just a point to beat off any late challenge from title rivals, Rostov, who won 2-0 at Terek Grozny to finish as runners-up on 63 points.
CSKA Moscow made all the statistics work in their favour by grabbing maximum three points via Alan Dzagoev’s 19th minute goal at Rubin Kazan to finish on 65 points.
They were thus crowned the Russian Premier League winner for the sixth time, and automatically qualified for next season Champions League.
Musa, who is closing in on a summer move to Premier League Champions, Leicester City, scored a total of 13 goals, seven adrift of the league top-scorer, Krasnodar forward, Fedor Smolov, who scored 20 goals.
