Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa, scored two beautiful goals to help CSKA Moscow beat Kuban Krasnodar 2-0 on Saturday at Arena Khimki.
Musa, 23, notched his third strike in the last hat-trick of games as the Militarians moved back to the summit of the Russian Premier League with 43 points.
The former Kano Pillars man grabbed his first in the 21st minute before benefiting from a wonderful pass from Alan Dzagoev to score the second 10 minutes before full-time.
His brace at home took his season’s tally to 10 in 26 appearances this season.
Musa, who was subject to multiple bids from Barclays Premier League leaders, Leicester City, was in line for a hat-trick before being replaced by compatriot Aaron Samuel in the 90th minute.
Both players are expected to lead the Eagles attack in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next week against Egypt.
Musa has been compared to Jesus Navas and Arjen Robben for his pace and ability to cut inside and cause havoc.
The only Nigerian to score more than once in a FIFA World Cup match, Musa has made 56 appearances for the Eagles.
