First lady Aisha Buhari on Monday announced she would be closing her office for the festive season.
Mrs Buhari asked her staff to immediately proceed on leave until further notice, adding that work could continue virtually.
“This serves to inform all staff that the office of the First lady will be closed for the upcoming festive period of Christmas and New year,” a statement by the senior special assistant to the president on health and development partners (first lady’s office) Mohammed Kamal said.
“To this end, all staff are requested to proceed on leave, untill further notice. Please note that Official engagements and work can also continue virtually as it was done previously.
“Her Excellency appreciates and thank all staff for their commitment and hard work and wish all a happy festive period ahead.”
Mrs Buhari and her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday arrived Abuja from the third Turkey-African Partnership Summit held in Istanbul, Turkey.
