First lady Aisha Buhari on Wednesday received Olori Atuwatse III during a visit of the queen and her husband Olu of Warri Ogiame Atuwatse III to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mrs Buhari gave the queen a copy of her book Aisha Buhari: Being Different written by Hajo Sani, the senior special adviser to the president on women affairs and administration (office of the first lady).
The queen said Mrs Buhari gave her a warm and inspirational welcome.
The visit was the first for the monarch and his wife since his coronation in August 2021.
About the president’s daughters, Olori Atuwatse said in an Instagram post, “It was a pleasure meeting her beautiful daughters Halima and Zahra as well. We shared ideas on how to use influence as women, working together for greater impact in our society.”
She added, “Women are needed at all strata of society, from grassroot community levels to federal levels, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation and make sure our needs are heard and heeded to.”
The Olu said his reason for visiting the president was primarily to thank him for sending a high-powered delegation to his coronation as the 21st monarch of the Kingdom, “and for your kind felicitation, goodwill and solidarity.”
