First Lady Aisha Buhari has shared a video of the Durbar festival held recently in Bauchi State in the face of controversy surrounding the use of a presidential jet by her daughter, Hanan Buhari.
Hanan was flown to Bauchi last Thursday with the presidential jet for the private function.
She was said to have been invited by the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Adamu, as a special guest of honour to capture the Durbar with her camera.
Hanan’s use of the jet was widely criticised by many who say the jet should be restricted for official use.
Mrs Buhari, however, unfazed by the criticism, shared a 55-second video on Monday on social media of the Durbar covered by Hanan.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, last Saturday defended Hanan’s use of the jet, saying President Muhammadu Buhari and his family have the right to use the jet whenever the need arises.
It is believed that Hanan will make a gallery using photographs of the traditional durbar, Bauchi architecture and other cultural sites in the state.
She recently graduated with a first-class in Photography from Ravensbourne University, London.
