First lady Aisha Buhari on Thursday returned to Abuja from Kaduna by train.
It was not immediately clear if it was her first train ride on that route.
Mrs Buhari had visited Kano to condole the family of the late Hanifa Abubakar. She also visited Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and restated her call for justice for Hanifa.
The five-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and killed by the proprietor of her school, Abdulmalik Tanko.
Mrs Buhari reportedly travelled in the company of her younger brother Mahmud Ahmad, also known as Modi, and a few aides.
Many Nigerians, including politicians, have been using the Abuja-Kaduna train to avoid travelling by road as the Abuja-Kaduna highway has been overtaken by bandits and kidnappers.
