Before her departure through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, the President’s wife thanked Nigerians for their support and prayers for the quick recovery of her husband.
President Buhari left Nigeria for London in the evening of May 7 for medical follow-up after hosting 82 Chibok girls released by Boko Haram terrorists.
The President had previously travelled to London in January 19 on an extended medical vacation and returned on March 10.
He made very few public appearances during his stay in Nigeria, failing to appear at three consecutive Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings.
Mrs Buhari tried to douse concern about her husband’s health posting on Twitter on May 2 that “I wish to inform everyone that his health is not as bad as it’s being perceived. Meanwhile he continues to carry out his responsibilities.”
The 74-year-old jetted out of the country eight days later on the advice of his doctors.
His media aide, Femi Adesina, said in a release that “The President assured Nigerians that there is no cause for worry.”
