First lady Aisha Buhari on Monday paid a condolence visit to the family of her late uncle Prof Gidado Tahir.
Tahir, who was the pioneer executive secretary of the universal basic education council, died at the age of 72.
He was the provost of Federal College of Education, Yola, Adamawa State from 1987 to 1994.
Tahir taught at the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto and the University of Abuja, where he rose to the position of deputy vice-chancellor before retiring.
“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family the fortitude to bear this loss, Ameen,” Mrs Buhari wrote in a post to Instagram.
The visit came before she hosted the Vice President of Liberia Jewel Howard-Taylor, her delegation and various women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at her office ahead of the APC national women’s conference holding in Abuja on Tuesday, January 18 and Wednesday, January 19.
