Activist Aisha Yesufu on Saturday attended the campaign flag-off of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Nasarawa.
Based in Abuja, Mrs Yesufu turned up at the event in the nearby state in a brown outfit.
Yesufu is one of the lead voices on Twitter urging the public to elect Obi.
Also present at the campaign flag-off was Mr Obi’s running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed; and the party’s national chairman, Julius Abure; among other party chieftains.
At the event, Obi decried Nigeria’s inability to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, saying his administration, if elected, would invest money in sports.
“A country of 200 million people, we did not qualify for World Cup? …We will put money in sports, the youths will have goals, we will go to World Cup one way. How can they play World Cup without Nigeria?” Obi queried.
“We will give you back your job, we will give you back your country. You will be proud of Nigeria,” he also said earlier.
