AIT anchor Gbenga Aruleba has disclosed his battle with Sciatica which kept him hospitalised for over two months.
Aruleba said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that he returned home from Alliance Hospital in Lagos the previous day.
“After almost two months on admission for Sciatica, which saw me going through two massive surgeries, I left the Alliance Hospital yesterday for home to continue the process of healing and recovery,” he said.
The broadcaster thanked all who have been supportive, visited him in the hospital and have been praying for him.
He wrote, “I’m greatly appreciative and indebted to you all, Friends, Colleagues (Abuja based Editors led by Alhaji Yusuf Alli, such a great and selfless leader) My Big Brother, Egbon and all, Mr Bayo Onanuga, who silently but massively reacted out to me, once my Aburo in whom I’m very well pleased, Temitope Ajayi(Oni Uyi, oni eye, Omo Ayiye extraordinaire) mentioned my plight to him) Prof Obiora Okonkwo who was ‘dragged’ to the hospital by my ever supportive brother and colleague, Kingsley Ezeama.
He also mentioned that the minister of information Mohammed Idris visited him
The journalist said he would share the story of how he overcame the illness later.
Aruleba also shared a video of his arrival at home on Facebook.
“And I arrived home to a most beautiful reception organized by THE SQUAD, Lara, Roluke, Tosin, Shade and Funmilayo. Apparently, they split into two groups to achieve these, one group in the hospital and one at home tidying things up.
“No place like home. Thank you Lord that I returned home, ALIVE,” he captioned the post.
