The former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, will be buried privately, his spokesman, Bolaji Tunji, has said.
Mr Tunji told reporters at the late Ajimboi’s Oluyole, Ibadan residence on Friday that the family would soon reveal details of the funeral.
“The funeral arrangements will be announced soon by the family but it will be observed privately so as to be in accordance with the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines,” he said.
Ajimobi died in Lagos on Thursday of multiple organs failure arising from the coronavirus.
Tunji appealed to sympathisers, who have been thronging Ajimobi’s residence, to continue following NCDC guidelines by washing their hands, using face masks and observing social distancing, among others.
