Ajimobi’s son appointed SA to Deputy Senate President Barau

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau has appointed Abolaji Ajimobi, son of the late former Oyo State governor Abiola Ajimobi, as special adviser on special duties.

A statement by Barau’s media office on Sunday confirmed this.

Ajimobi had his primary and secondary education in Nigeria before moving to England, where he graduated with a degree in business management in 2004. He also obtained a master’s degree in international relations in London.

The statement further said Barau appointed Prof Muhammad Abdullahi as chief of staff; Prof Bashir Fagge as special adviser, policy and monitoring; and the deputy general editor of Daily Trust newspapers, Ismail Mudashir as special adviser, media and publicity.

He also appointed Yusuf Tumfafi as special adviser (political), Ngozi Nkemdirim as special adviser on administration; and Shitu Kunchi as special assistant (media and publicity).

Barau, who represents Kano North Senatorial District, said the appointees were selected based on their track records in their respective professions.  He said the appointments take immediate effect.
