Ondo State House of Assembly will on Friday hold a plenary session as President Bola Tinubu is billed to meet aides of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, and Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to resolve the leadership crisis in the state.
PUNCH learnt that the meeting at the Presidential Villa is scheduled for 2pm Friday.
This comes days after some Ondo State elders called on Tinubu to urgently intervene in the constitutional crisis in the state.
Akeredolu returned to Nigeria in the first week of September after a three-month medical leave.
Shortly after his return, state lawmakers initiated an impeachment process against Aiyedatiwa, alleging gross misconduct.

The newspaper said it gathered that the lawmakers may declare Aiyedatiwa acting governor following Akeredolu’s inability to resume office due to ill health.
The governor is still recuperating at his private residence in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
A spokesman for Olatunji Oshati, chairman of Ondo State House Committee on Information, was quoted as saying, “What I can tell you for now is that there is something like that, not to declare him (Aiyedatiwa) but the House is going to sit on the matter and review the political situation today as directed by our national leaders.”
