President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, has paid tribute to his late father, Roland Adesina, on his 98th posthumous birthday.
Mr Adesina tweeted on Sunday saying he would never depart from his father’s teachings to show kindness and love to people.
“Today my darling father, Roland Adesina, would have turned 98 years. I miss you Dad, every single day,” he said.
“You taught me to be kind, to love and care for others. I’ll never depart from all you taught me. Happy birthday, RF. I will celebrate you. You are alive always in my heart.”
Adesina had on March 19 announced that the bank has gone virtual and that its staff have been directed to work from home following the outbreak of the coronavirus in Africa.
“The African Development Bank has now gone totally virtual: All staff work from home, virtually. Board meetings have gone virtual.
“The more we reduce physical contact the safer we all will be. Please stay safe and well, everyone. Your health and safety is my number one priority,” he said.
