President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Akinwumi Adesina has announced the birth of his fourth grandchild.
Adesina and wife Grace posed for photos with the baby which he posted to Twitter on Sunday. The baby boy was dressed like the AfDB boss with his trademark bow-tie.
“God’s incredible blessing and joy for Grace and I to be grandparents a 4th time!! A bow-tie deal signed with our grandson!” Adesina said.
In May, the former Nigerian minister of agriculture rejected calls for him to contest the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A coalition of groups comprising youth, women, farmers, physically-challenged and others bought and submitted the presidential forms of the APC worth N100 million on his behalf.
“While I am deeply honored, humbled and grateful for all the incredible goodwill, kindness, and confidence, my current responsibilities at this time do not allow me to accept to be considered,” Adesina said in a statement.
