Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reacted to an allegation by a controversial blogger Gistlover that despite being married he has several lovers locally called side chics.
On July 21, Gistlover released a list of women allegedly having romantic affairs with Akpabio.
The list included celebrities such as Ini Edo, Nancy Isime, Hilda Baci, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Nwanneka Nkumah, Nnadi Shontel, and others.
Hair vendor Nwanneka debunked the allegation, urging the blogger to verify the claim.
Dakore, on her part, offered N5 million to anyone who comes forward with a photo or video of her and Akpabio, adding that she has never met the lawmaker.
She also issued a cease-and-desist notice to the blogger through her lawyers at Olisa Agbakoba’s firm, asking the blogger to take down the claims made on social media within 24 hours of receiving the notice or face legal action.
Addressing the issue during plenary on Tuesday, Akpabio said, “I don’t want to say what they did to me, because I don’t merit what they did to me. In my tradition, we marry only one wife. They listed so many wives on social media.
“At the end, it will look as if the Senate President has so many wives, but I’m reporting to my colleagues that I have only one (wife), and I’m satisfied with that one.”
