Senator Elisha Abbo has taken back his allegation that Senate President Godswill Akpabio plotted his removal by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
The court on Monday nullified Abbo’s election and declared the PDP candidate Amos Yohanna the rightful winner of Adamawa North Senatorial District election held on February 25.
Abbo then held a press conference at his home in Abuja where he claimed he and four other senators were being targeted for not supporting Akpabio’s emergence as Senate president, an allegation Akpabio debunked.
Speaking, however, on Wednesday in an interview on Arise Television, Abbo said he was convinced Akpabio had nothing to do with his travail.

I have no hand in your sack, Akpabio replies Elisha Abbo
“I have to say this with all sense of humility and responsibility that the press release we issued yesterday was premature and based on the available information at our disposal yesterday,” he said.
“As of today, we have discovered a lot of things, and yesterday night I had a discussion with the Senate president, and I am convinced that he is not involved.”
Abbo quoted Akpabio as saying: “I swear by my mother’s grave that I’m not involved. I didn’t even know that you’re in court.”
Abbo further stated: “For a number three citizen to come up to tell me that he has sworn on his mother’s grave, a woman that he loves so much, a woman who brought him up after he lost his father at the age of six, I don’t see a reason why he would lie.”
