Olori Kafayat, one of the wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has died in the United States.
According to the palace’s spokesman Bode Durojaye, Olori Kafayat died on Friday night.
“She died in the United States of America,” he told PUNCH on Saturday, promising to give details soon.
Popularly known as Iya Aguo or Iya Ibeji in Oyo Kingdom, Olori Kafayat is the mother of Prince Adebayo Adeyemi, chairman of Oyo State Local Government Pensions Board.
Her husband Oba Adeyemi died at the age of 83 on April 22, 2022 at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.
The state government is yet to install a new Alaafin.
