Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, may have become a key cog at Arsenal, yet the 20-year-old still has fond memories of his first goal for the club.
Iwobi broke into Arsene Wenger’s team as a teenager in 2015, hitting the net for the first time in the 2-0 victory over Everton March last year.
After sparkling in the Champions League and FA Cup, the young Nigerian was handed his first Premier League start away to the Toffees.
And it took the skilful playmaker just 42 minutes to register his name on the score sheet, adding to an earlier strike by Danny Welbeck.
Iwobi was put through thanks to a delightful pass from Hector Bellerin, with the 20-year-old’s pace too much for Everton’s defenders, ultimately putting it beyond Maarten Stekelenburg.

After the game, a delighted Iwobi said: “It’s not bad. I enjoyed the moment. But I’m happy that the team won. That’s the positive. That’s what we’re going to take into the next game.”
The Nigerian followed up his maiden goal with another in the next game against Watford before he assisted two goals in Arsenal’s 3-3 draw at West Ham United.
Blessed with an abundance of trickery and pace, with excellent vision and passing range, Iwobi has continually earned praises for his style of play.
Superstar teammate, Alexis Sanchez, recently claimed he “really likes Alex”.
“He’s a player that can play up front, in the centre, he’s good at one on ones. If he has a winning mentality and keeps pushing forward I think he can do very well. I really like him.”
Iwobi is currently on holiday after featuring in Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to South Africa two weeks ago.
He is expected to continue his progress next season at the Emirates.
