Super Eagles midfielder has made a return to Instagram with a message to his critics.
Iwobi was cyberbullied over his performance at the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which Nigeria lost 2-1 to host Cote d’Ivoire in February.
In the wake of the attack, the midfielder logged out of all his social media accounts.
The 27-year-old got lots of support from his teammates including captain Ahmed Musa and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong. His uncle Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha also showed his support during the trying moment.

Minister of sports development John Enoh met with Iwobi and assured him that his efforts were appreciated despite the attacks from some critics online.
However, Iwobi made his first post on Instagram on Sunday for the first time in over four weeks. The post was a compilation of his stand-out moment during the 2023 AFCON and his recent performances back at his Premier League club Fulham.
In the clip, a rapper says: “They said I wasn’t good enough, but forgot I was playing in a position I wasn’t used to.”
