Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has finally proposed to Fancy Acholonu, his girlfriend of many years.
The 35-year-old broke the news in an Instagram post on Monday.
“I asked the love of my life @fancyacholonu to marry me…,” he captioned the post.
Fancy also posted a picture of the couple kissing on her Instagram page, writing “…& I said YES to the Love of my life @alexxekubo.”
Fancy said in a February 25, 2019 Instagram post that she attended the Oscars ceremony alone because Alexx had to fly back to Nigeria to vote in the general election.
The actor promised in the comment section of the post that he would attend the next edition with her.
That, however, did not happen because of the coronavirus pandemic which kept most of the world on lockdown in 2020.
Born in Los Angeles, USA to Nigerian parents from Imo State, Fancy is a model, actress, entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast.
She is the CEO of Zodiac Jewelry and Accessories Store and The Fancy Kidz which teaches children acting and modelling skills.
A native of Arochukwu in Abia State, Alexx is also a model like his fiancée.
He was first runner-up at the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest.
The True Citizens actor was installed the Ikuku of Amumara Town in the Mbaise region of his wife’s state of origin last year.
In a congratulatory message posted on Instagram, US-based Nigerian beauty queen, actress and family nurse Regina Askia called on him to get married now that he has a chieftaincy title.
“Congratulations. Chief Alexx Ekubo!! You have done well. But a Chief must have a Lolo! My Son! Where is your Lolo?” the former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria wrote.
