Ace comedian, Ali Baba, has knocked the South Sudanese leaders who allowed Pope Francis to kiss their feet on Thursday.
The Pope shocked the leaders who were on a spiritual retreat at the Vatican when he bent down to kiss their feet.
The popular TV host reacted to the viral event in an Instagram post on Friday.
“I never can understand why someone will let another person WHO SHOULDN’T be seen bowing to them, do so and they don’t make any attempt to stop them. It just tells me a lot about the kind of person you are.
“Msheeew. Even people I am older than… as soon as they try to do it, I am meeting them half way. That’s the kind of thing Assad will do,” he wrote.
Speaking to the South Sudanese president, Salva Kiir, and opposition leader, Riek Machar, on Thursday, the Pontiff said: “Stay in peace.”
The gesture signified the spiritual leader’s resolve to ensure reign of peace in the war-torn country.
Last September, Mr. Kiir and his former vice president turned rebel leader, Mr. Machar, signed a peace agreement in Ethiopia.
Francis urged the two leaders to respect the agreement and form a unity government in May.
“There will be fights among you, but let these be inside the office. But in front of the people, hold hands.
“I urge you, then, to seek what unites you, beginning with the fact that you belong to one and the same people, and to overcome all that divides you. People are wearied, exhausted by past conflicts. Remember that with war, all is lost!” he said.
