Ace comedian Ali Baba has mourned Prof Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe a former vice-chancellor of University of Lagos (UNILAG).
The 55-year-old shared a picture of Ibidapo-Obe in an Instagram post on Sunday.
He reminisced on their old conversations.
“Prof Ibidapo-Obe…. rest on. I called you My VeeCee!!! And you called me, “Alawada Olowo!
“I still remember vividly, us sitting in your office, when you invited me to see how Comedy 305 and 315, could be included in the UNILAG Curriculum. The Registrar and Dean did not see how comedy as an additional course will be accepted by NUC,” he wrote.
Ali Baba also said he was a good man.
“It’s sad to hear you were knocked down by COVID-19. But I am happy I met you and you are a good man,” he wrote.
Ibidapo-Obe, a professor of systems engineering, died on Sunday aged 71 from suspected COVID-19 complications.
He was until his death the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of First Technical University, Ibadan.
