Kannywood practitioners Ali Nuhu and Maryam Booth have mounted their colleague Saratu Gidado, popularly known as Daso, who died at age 56.
Saratu’s family announced the shocking death to Freedom Radio on Tuesday, saying that the actress was found dead in the morning.
Her family members explained that the actress failed to wake up on Tuesday morning after the midnight meal before the commencement of the day’s Ramadan fast, Sahur.
Reacting to the tragic news in an Instagram post, Ali shared Saratus’s picture and prayed for Allah’s mercy.
“NNALILLAHI WAINNA ILAIHIR RAJI’UN. May Allah have mercy on Haj @saratudaso.”
“Noooooooooooooooooo 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 ya Allah,” another Uzee Usman wrote in the comment section of the post.
Maryam Booth also posted the deceased’s picture waiting, “Innalillahi and inna ilayhir rajiun. May Allah forgive us. Inna lillahi and inna laihir reajiun. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhir rajiun.”
Daso was born on January 17, 1968, in the city of Kano.
She was particularly known for the comical roles she played as an aggressive and mischievous woman.
She made her debut in 2000 in a movie titled Linzami Da Wuta, produced by Sarauniya Movies.
