Actress and filmmaker Destiny Etiko has revealed how a group of con artists infiltrated her film audition in Delta State, posing as members of her team to scam unsuspecting young talents.
During a Facebook Live session on Friday, the actress shared that the scammers boldly extorted N50,000 from hopeful actors, promising them an inside track to success within her circle.
This occurred despite her prior announcement that the auditions were free and that she planned to personally reward those selected.
Destiny expressed shock and dismay at how easily these aspiring talents fell victim to the scam especially given her public statements.
She urged her fans and those pursuing their dreams in the entertainment industry to remain cautious and vigilant against fraudsters.
In her live session, Destiny emphasised that the pursuit of a career should never involve exploitation, warning her audience to beware of predators who prey on ambition.
