Tony Iwelu, chief security officer to the minister for transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has died.
An aide of the minister told Daily Trust that Mr Iwelu died of electric shock in the bathroom of a hotel in Kaduna on Monday.
He had travelled with the minister to Kaduna to felicitate with Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on his 60th birthday.
The aide’s identity could not be disclosed as the person was not authorised to speak on the matter.
Iwelu was seconded to Amaechi from the State Security Service (SSS), self-styled as the Department of State Services (DSS).
