Tolu Ogunlesi, social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, has attacked Amnesty International Nigeria over its support for the ‘RevolutionNow’ movement being convened by former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.
Another social media aide to the president, Lauretta Onochie, had on Thursday urged Amnesty International to investigate its subsidiary in Nigeria.
Mrs Onochie claimed that Amnesty International Nigeria have the same agenda with separatist group, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
In several tweets on Friday, Mr Ogunlesi also called on the human rights organisation to caution its Nigeria office.
“I’m convinced @AmnestyNigeria handle is in wrong hands. The unforced errors coming from it. ‘Nigeria belongs to all of us’ is not Amnesty Int’l language. Showing up here this way it comes across as political-language. Also, Nigeria belongs to Nigerians, not to AI. Are you with me?” he said.
The RevolutionNow’ movement declared August 5 for the commencement of the protest tagged ‘Days of Rage’ across the country to demand a better Nigeria.
