Former Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has parted ways with Sudanese side, Al Khartoum, after failing to meet the terms of his deal financially.
Amuneke, an ex-Super Eagles star, joined the capital club on a two-year contract in November, replacing Kwesi Appiah, who returned as coach of Ghana.
However, barely four months into the job, the 47-year-old has walked away, citing non-payment of salaries.
“The true picture is that after our last game, I had a discussion with our club director and he told me that the team is struggling financially,” the ex-Barcelona winger told AOIFootball.
“The team is in financial crisis and both the players and coaches have not been paid for two months. He told me the situation and suggested we work on half payment, but of course, you know that won’t be possible.
“We came to an agreement that the best option for both parties is to end the contract and for them to pay me what they are owing and all other things involved in the contract. This is the clear situation of things.
Amuneke departs the team in a respectable fourth place on the log, with 11 points from eight games played so far.
