Actress Angela Okorie has defended Ghanaian rapper Shatta Wale against critics, asking them to stop insulting him.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, the actress turned singer said she does not have any issues with the rapper and they both recorded a song together, adding that she has always supported him more than some Nigerian celebrities.
“Y’all should stop with the insults, for crying out loud I am not having any issues with Shatta Wale WTF! I just dropped a song and you’re already bringing this hate to me abeg o. How many people for the industry wey I help blow their song help me back?
“When I started doing music, everybody dey act like say e dey pain them. Listen I and Shatta haven’t even met. I reached out to him to vibe on a song and he responded, listen be good to who is good to you. Nigerians dey beef, Ghana dey beef. What is all these fights for sef,” she wrote in parts.
Shatta Wale recently criticised Nigerian artistes, claiming they owe their fame to support from their Ghanaian counterparts.
This came after Nigerian entertainers reacted to his earlier comment about selling out a Ghanaian stadium without the help of Nigerian artistes.
In response to their reaction, Shatta Wale tweeted on Monday, December 27, “As for Nigerians, they think they can always say what they want to say. F**k your talks. Y’all who think I spoke the truth, I don’t even remember you guys promoting Ghanaian artiste in your country. Until you guys will realise your artiste ‘blew’ in Ghana to say thank you.
“Bring it on and your artiste won’t get that hype they get from Ghana. I can make that stop. Don’t dare me.
“It’s the truth, your artistes come here for numbers before the world can recognise them. Appreciate Ghana supporting your artiste and stop this foolishness.”
